HEART 2

Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Central Florida Logo

After Anya was released from Shands with a new heart, she and her mother resided at Ronald McDonald House for a couple of more weeks. Considering the virus situation her doctors recommended that the best place or Anya now is home. They quickly decided to leave. Yesterday Liz and Anya traveled to Bradenton. Each week they will return to Gainesville so that the doctors can monitor her condition.

Here is the new address:
Liz and Anya Groulx
4219 62nd St W
Bradenton FL 34209

Thanks for the update Gary.

  1. I just spoke with Anya's mother Liz a little while ago. Yes, they are now at home, but settling in may take some time. Trinity and Vincent are at home with them now too.

I had previously commented after talking with Gary that Trinity and Vincent were with their grandparents in California. Well, the truth is that one or both of us didn't have that 100 percent right. I will take the blame for not fact checking this important detail. Just kidding about the fact checking.

Actually, I am simply glad to learn that Trinity and Vincent have been here in Florida with their grandparents rather than at the Ronald McDonald House or in California for a while now I guess, and are now reunited again with their older sister and their mother.

I had gotten a card for Anya, but was reluctant to send it to her without talking to Liz first. The reason I was concerned was because in general there is some concern among us as there should be about transmitting the COVID-19 virus through contact, and of course Anya's immune system is I expect still working "overtime" and probably is still quite "stress out." Anyway, Liz told me that sending a card would be ok.

    Regards,
    Peter

Around 1900 my Quaker grandmother and her cousin were at Monmouth College in Illinois. They lived in a Quaker boarding house. They were kicked out of the boarding house because they were caught playing a guitar and singing. Their parents decided this was not really a problem, so they found another place to live.
